Fruit flies can cause a number of issues around your home if you are not careful and even more damage if you allow them to make their home in your commercial property. No one is going to want to come into your business, look around, and notice that you have a bunch of these tiny flies all around. There may not be a big thing that you did to cause these, but they are still something that you need to have removed from the property as soon as possible. But as a business owner, how are you supposed to get this done?

You may be amazed at just how fast a fruit fly infestation can get out of hand. You may notice that one fly is buzzing around in the morning, which does not seem like that big of a deal, but by the afternoon, you will have a half dozen or more that you need to deal with. This is not really your imagination; the fruit flies are multiplying and taking over and you will need to get them out quickly or they will lay eggs within 24 hours.

The best way to deal with the fruit flies is to cut off all of their supply of food. Take your soft fruits and store them in the fridge. You need to also wipe down your counters and cutting boards when done with food prep and empty out the garbage and recycling cans each day. This should do a good job of eliminating some of the fruit flies that are not around. A fruit fly trap can also be made by filling a small tumbler halfway with apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid. Fill the rest up with warm water. The fruit flies will think that this is food, will come over to take a look, and they end up drowning, giving you a break in the building.
